- Ferry Tarifa - Tangier Ville: Balearia and AML (Africa Morocco Link), fast ferries, about 1 hour. FRS/DFDS stopped the route after 4 May 2025.
- Tangier Ville port is in the city centre below the medina; Tanger Med is a different port about 40 km east.
- Passports are stamped on board by a Moroccan officer during the crossing. EU citizens may use an ID card on Balearia's trip; others need a passport.
- Morocco returned to GMT (UTC+0) on 20 September 2026 (Decree 2.26.530). Tangier is 1 hour behind Spain in winter, 2 hours behind from 28 March 2027.

- FRS no longer sails Tarifa - Tangier (since May 2025); Balearia and AML do.
- Morocco is no longer on GMT+1: it returned to GMT on 20 September 2026, so older 'same time as Spain' advice is out of date.
- A 9-hour day trip is not 9 hours in Tangier: about 6 hours are in Morocco, and the coach to Cap Spartel takes a good part of them.
- Tangier Ville (city centre) and Tanger Med (about 40 km away) are different ports.
